RettAdvokat offers affordable legal services to ensure that more people can access the legal help they need. Our hourly rate aligns with the public fee rate, which from July 1, 2024, is NOK 1,265 + VAT (totaling NOK 1,581).

In criminal cases where you are entitled to a legal counsel (such as sexual assault and domestic violence), in child protection cases for the Child Welfare and Health Board, and in immigration cases involving asylum rejections or deportations, our legal assistance is entirely free of charge. In these instances, legal aid is covered by the government.

Free legal aid may also be granted in certain other cases, such as custody disputes and child abduction cases, if your annual income is below NOK 350,000 and your assets are below NOK 150,000 (excluding property value). For married or cohabiting couples, a combined income limit of NOK 540,000 applies.

A co-payment of NOK 1,215 is usually required. In legal proceedings, the co-payment can increase to a maximum of NOK 9,720. Individuals with an annual income below NOK 100,000 are exempt from paying the co-payment.
